A Pattern Language for Participants of Standardization Work
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a pattern language for people who are going to participate in standardization work. In this paper, the technical details of communication protocols or other standardization artifacts are not the primary focus. Working on standardization means working in a heterogeneous group, and decisions that are made need to balance conflicting forces. The resulting solutions tend to be compromises from proposals made by one or more participants of the standardization effort. This pattern language gives advice to readers to reach the best possible compromise. Dear workshop participants: Following patterns were added after VikingPLoP2004: Documents are Everything, Be Cool as a Cucumber, and Create a Network. Other patterns were also modified, and ”weasel” examples [6] were added.
